Barnsley House & Spa

A romantic country house hotel like no other, situated in the Cotswold village of Barnsley. Also boasting a Spa and skincare centre hidden away in the gardens, this is a dream location. Click to learn more about Barnsley House, or keep exploring the Collection...

The Painswick

Our first restaurant-with-rooms, set in the village of Painswick and drawing on its fantastic location, tucked into the hills with breathtaking valley views. Hospitality That Stays With You

The Calcot Collection is a small, eclectic group of luxury (but decidedly unstuffy) hotels, inns, restaurants and spas. Calcot (our flagship), Barnsley House, The Village Pub and The Painswick are all situated in the beautiful Gloucestershire Cotswolds. There’s also our rogue northerner, The Lord Crewe Arms, on the edge of the moors in the breathtaking Northumbrian Pennines.

This site will give you an overview of the Collection, with links to each hotel’s website or particular pages, if you want to book dining, treatments or learn more about weddings or events. We also have some interesting stories for you to explore below from throughout the Collection, which we think will give a glimpse of why we’re special… and why you should come and stay with us!

Each one of our hotels is unique but share a common thread—passion—and a promise that, once you’ve stayed, you’ll be hooked on the magic that the Collection has to offer. It’s hospitality that stays with you.

The Village Pub

We believe in unfussy luxury, feasting at the next level, memories that will last a lifetime and enough space to escape the daily stresses and re-energise. You can get outdoors and explore our stunning locations, or cosy down next to a roaring fire with a good book and afternoon tea. Whatever it is you need, we’ve got it covered.

From those “just because” stays, to important meetings and events, story-book weddings or any excuse to celebrate, you’ve found your place. The ethos of The Calcot Collection is all about dishing up tip-top hospitality, peppered with fun. Made up of a hardworking, passionate and enthusiastic team, skilled in great service and a love for all things hospitality, they are (we like to think) the key to our success in encouraging our guests to kick off their shoes, relax, unwind and enjoy what we have to offer.
